About
Lisa Laws creates contemporary canvas artworks that are made to live within spaces, shaping mood and atmosphere through texture, scale, and tone.
With a 10+ year career in the Design industry, her experience as a Stylist and Product Development for high end furniture brands and boutique Interior design showrooms, she brings a deep understanding of how art can transform an environment.
Guided more by material and mood than by narrative, Lisa allows each piece to evolve intuitively. For Lisa, she believes her role as the artist feels secondary to what the piece becomes once it exists. The intention is for the art to hold it’s own presence, something that doesn’t need explanation or authorship to be meaningful. For the viewer, it’s about slowing down and allowing the work to speak for itself.
Her current collection, ‘Sacred Stillness’ is a commissioned series made exclusively for Village Stores, a boutique brand based on the Gold Coast. Village is a unique space that connects clients with artisan pieces that evoke connection through sensory stimulaton. The result is a collection that feels both collaborative and personal.
